UNITED BOARD

Director of Development

The United Board (www.unitedboard.org) seeks a Director of Development.  The Director has responsibility for planning, executing, and monitoring the United Board’s fundraising activities related to donor cultivation, stewardship, alumni relations, and major gifts.  This includes reviews of existing fundraising and alumni programs and activities to assess appropriateness and effectiveness, as well as seeking new opportunities for fund raising.  The Director reports to the President, serves as liaison to the Board of Trustees’ Development Committee, and oversees a small development staff.

Qualified candidates must be self-starters with a track record in organizing and maintaining development departments; excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; prefer prior experience with a nonprofit on an international level; and a commitment to the United Board mission of social activism.  Experience with Asia is highly desirable.  The position, located in New York, requires domestic and international travel.

UB works to support faculty development, including Christian values where applicable, in colleges and universities in Asia through partnerships, grant support, and administered programs.  It works ecumenically to achieve excellence in education through programs that reflect our commitment to service.

Applications should be sent electronically to:

Mary Scarpinato, United Board, 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 1221, New York, NY 10115, U.S.A. by 31 January 2009 to personnel@unitedboard.org.

Applications should include a letter of interest, resume, and three references.

The United Board is an equal opportunity employer.
